Welcome Home, Sadie!

I met Sadie briefly one afternoon. She was nervous, and her belly didn't feel too good (giardiasis), so we didn't get to have a sleep-over. I loved meeting her, and tried to remind myself that the upcoming weekend was simply a 'trial period', and not a firm commitment. Despite that sentiment, I set out to purchase all the dog goodies: leash, bowl, treats, toys, bed. (Yeah... 'trial' my ass.)

We had our first overnight over MLK weekend in January 2007. She's sporting a new harness because the collar had rubbed a bald spot in the soft fur of the neck.

Baby Maddox

I met Maddox when she was a puppy playing in the back yard at ELWC. My neighbor was in the process of adopting her, and had brought her home to meet her other dog and see if it would be a good fit. Lucky for me, my neighbor returned Maddox to the adoption agency a few months later. Although I had already adopted her rescue-mate Sadie, I knew I needed to make room in my world for this little girl as well.

Maddox's foster mom took some very adorable pictures of her when she was a baby.

I noticed the her fur loss due to mange... good thing she has a nice fleece coat to keep her warm.
